but if something substantial happens to my mac stuff, you guys would probably be on the list of people to hear about it, pictures and all ;)
Seriously, where else would people understand the emotional ties?! :D

exactly!

I am a "board tech" (basically admin without the personal relations ;)) at another vBulletin forum. they are all (ALL) Windows users. they would never understand.
in fact, one of them called me a "pretentious macintosh user" [hahah] and laughed when I freaked out because this same child stuck a penny into my disc drive (which is still there BTW) yes, my son is trying my patience in a very risky way  when this same poster caught a massive trojan that she could not get rid of, I laughed back but still helped the twerp get rid of it [sigh]
they act like I am a pain in the arse because they can't send me their lame PaintShopPro files, please, like I want to go down their inferior roads ;) :p
it's funny how I buy a phenomenal product so that I can remain productive and enjoy the functionality and beauty of it all, and I find myself fixing lame problems that I can't even relate to. bloody XP freaks making my days difficult :D

blah blah blah too much caffeine ;)

I really can't see this happening. Just don't get wound up about it, just like anything else you see/read on the internet, take it with a bit of salt.

You're not as fun as you used to be. :(

I can see people having too much time on their hands and making up stories.

Sadly my digital camera is broken but... hey! I do not want my other powerbook to be waisted, I already had one flooded

The funnier part is all the MR people that consistently fall for trolls.
I guess the feeling such things evoke is one of horror and we would never want to see our baby go thru anything like that....but it would definitely make more sense to back yourself up wth some pics....its a serious waste of time and feelings on our part otherwise.....

Hm... my powerbook was stolen during a travel by train from berlin to vienna 2 days ago. Had it in a bag right at my feet, I should have noticed something! fell asleep and when I woke up, gone. Luckily I have an insurance, already called them and I'll be getting a new one next week. I had saved all the data on an external hd back home... this could have been a far bigger tragedy than it actually is now. Just hope I'll get a new pb as soon as possible, as I need it for working.

But anyway now, how I'm supposed to post pictures of my stolen powerbook? Maybe the empty iCurve.... ;)

We'll obviously waive that requirement. You merely need to post a video of the theft as it happened, along with two forms of photo ID belonging to the thief.

He he....you wil surely have your laptop too with all this info about the thief....but funny though....

I don't like the idea of requiring a camera just to discuss your woes. I'd love to show everyone pictures of my fairly recently dead TiBook (which had its screen broken off long before dying), but I'm far more concerned with affording a new iBook than a digital camera.

Alright, thank you! Now that I know that I'll call my buddy at the CIA and ask them if they got some close up satellite surveillance videos of the train.
:D

You're story is far more believable than the guy who posted a thread about knocking his brand new PB off a balcony.
Then going to the store to buy a new one.

What we are stating is that if you can afford two brand new PBs, there is now way you can't afford a camera.
