Holy moly, it's fast. Everything pops open so fast it scares me. Boot up time is MUCH faster. Yosemite is better, it's like a brand new rig.

I have a 840 pro in mine could never go back to a standard disk drive for boot again.

Samsung 840 in usb case. (2012 i5 Mac Mini)

I just started using a Samsung 840 connected by USB3 and boot time is a lot quicker. Apps open a lot faster and in general everything seem better.

Safari is one bounce of the icon, some apps maybe 2. MUCH faster. I was about to give up on osx and go back to windows, but now I will wait. It still bothers me that I had to do this to get anything out of it though.

I can't believe you waited this long to put an SSD in. I put one in the day I got my 2012! :D

About to Upgrade my 2011 which i currently have a Samsung 830 128GB to a 840 Pro 256 or a 850 256. I already have 16GB RAM.

Awesome. Gonna do this upgrade myself with the OWC data doubler kit. Can't wait to get some speed in the mini!
