New series 7

Wife got me a series 7 for my birthday. Trying to figure out messages, I have it set to mirror my iPhone. How do I cinfigure it to delete messages when I delete them on my iPhone? Messages delete from my iPad when I delete them from my phone, but they’re still on my watch.

You will need to manually delete them from the watch when that happens. Some people view it as a sync problem while others see it as the way Apple intended.

It is definitely not a sync problem and is indeed how Apple intended to be. However nobody can work out the rationale behind this ridiculous decision: They support syncing of iMessage across the Apple Watch but not SMS… whoever makes these ludicrous decisions need sacking.

Its not ludicrous....?

iMessage is an Apple service so it stands to reason that this is the service which they sync across devices. How can they possibly sync SMS when this service is split across so many different carriers ?

But it is ludicrous. If I delete an SMS off my iPhone I expect it to be deleted off my Apple Watch and vice versa, the same as iMessages. Absolutely nothing to do with carriers. Once a text has arrived on my iPhone there is no reason it can’t automatically be deleted off my watch when it’s deleted off the phone.

I bought one too a few weeks ago. Upgraded from the 4. Am loving mine. Big improvement over the 4.
