I'm still waiting for it when it was promised and I purchased my iPhone 16 Pro to support it. I mean my stupid mistake I know, but still.

Any bets it doesn't launch with 27.0.. features to be rolled out throughout the year AND you have to upgrade your iPhone to support the best features

We either get to keep complaining it’s not out yet or complain if it comers out and isn’t good but not both!! Stop complaining about it not being out yet. I don’t want a crap update that hogs resources and doesn’t work. If it’s not great keep it in the crate but don’t ship it.
Apple should’ve thought of that before going overboard at WWDC 24.

While Apple is the one dealing with this well-deserved fallout . . . people should remember that this happens so frequently in the computing industry that no one should ever purchase any hardware with the promise of future software capability. It has been the wrong choice so many times it is laughable. Google, Sony, Lenovo, Microsoft . . . I could go on. All have promised imminent software that either came much later than planned or never arrived at all.

That said, Apple does have a good track record of supporting (most) of the hardware it releases for a longer period of time than competitors.

Then pushed to 27.1, then 27.2. Then iOS 28.

On and on and on. Apple should remove ALL MENTION of Apple “Intelligence” indefinitely.

And no one will even notice because the only ones who remember are the ones where were duped by the obnoxious Bella Ramsey ad they had to pull.

Historically perhaps. But Google and Samsung’s 7-year support promise still beats Apple’s 5-year promise.

But then we won't have Genmoji and Image Playground!! What will we do if we lose these!

It can be released in a different beta. We’re only on beta 1. After all, we didn’t know that the adult family sharing was going to come out until the final moments of 26.4. Let’s be patient instead of making assumptions. It may come 26.5 it may not, and come 26.6, etc, or iOS 27. It is what it is.

Personally it doesn’t mean much if they’re revamping for iOS 27 and a Siri app anyway. They may end up just focusing on that. But then again, lawsuit for promising and not delivering

It's gonna be iOS 27 at the earliest. Gurman was right.

Apple's fanfare for WWDC26 doesn't even include the glowing AI edge colors. That tells you how "confident" Apple is about AI.

The EU requires support for five years after the end of production, so effectively it’s pretty much the same. The oldest iPhone supported by iOS 26 is the iPhone 11 launched in 2019.

I mean… is anyone surprised? Just look at when Apple’s announced ANY of the recent big changes to Siri and it’s always been during WWDC. You don’t even have to google, you can search macrumors’ posts. I guess it drives engagement though, because here’s my post! LOL

Mark FAKE NEWS Gurman once again! Can you believe it folks?

Why is this guy even in the industry, he flip flops so much we should call him a house of pancakes!

He used to know people back when he was working at 9to5. Over time, those people got fired or stopped talking (due to the risk of getting fired), but by that time, he was working at Bloomberg and had to keep it up.
