New Smart Cover colors?

I bought my new iPad today at my local apple store and went to pick out a new smart cover instead of using my old dirty orange one. I was going for the grey one and noticed there were two shades. There was a new darker cloth grey cover and I got it and I also noticed that the back side was a different texture and darker material then my old cover.

Anyone else notice anything new about the smart covers?

I got the same dark grey one, its quite nice, but I am concerned about the sides and the back, considering exchanging it for a folio type case.

Did the back of your last ipad get marred up using just the smart cover?

I has grey and hated it and went with orange. Love it!
