I've included a new tag that allows you to add live updating list of recent comments on a particular topic.

Here's the syntax:

<mrcomments>
limit=# of links (1-20 is valid range). Default = 5.
searchterm= Searches for this term in the TITLE of threads
forumid= a single integer # to limit the search to that forum. Default is all forums
</mrcomments>

Example:

<mrcomments>
limit=8
searchterm=Safari
forumid=2
</mrcomments>

This will bring back the last 8 thread links with the word "Safari" in the title, but the search is limited to ForumID 2 ( https://forums.macrumors.com/forums/2/ - Mac Applications)

All fields are optional.

Examples of Guide pages with the tag in it:

http://guides.macrumors.com/Rosetta
http://guides.macrumors.com/iLife_'06
http://guides.macrumors.com/MacBook_Pro
http://guides.macrumors.com/iWork_'06
http://guides.macrumors.com/Intel_iMac

Remember: it ONLY searches in TITLEs, not entire threads. I don't see this being useful for every article, but for high traffic articles or ones with specific products, I think it could be very useful.

See the recent comments in the [guide]MacBook Pro[/guide] guide page at the bottom? It is dynamically generated by the code in the second image.

Underscore is an illegal character. I have to change your username for it to work correctly. Email me at webmaster@macrumors.com if u want your name changed.

Couldn't you just make PhatPat a user in the guides and drop the underscore while leaving the underscore in the forums? Link two accounts, basically.

not really, then what happens when someone called "PhatPat" registers on the forums and wants to use the guides?

Hope the wiki software has been patched by then?
:rolleyes:

Touché. Which, interestingly enough, is not in the dictionary. But "Touche" is... with the accent mark.:confused:
