Gonna be upgrading my CPU on my 6,1 tomorrow.

should I redo the thermal compound on the gpus while I got it open?

You need to replace the thermal pads on the GPUs if you do that. The part numbers are in the technician guide. You need 2 sets of 4.

Always. The same as every other GPUs. I don't see anything wrong with using the existing pads if they are intact.

When I replaced the thermal compound all pads looked great and didn't come off in any way when I removed card A or B. I therefor reused them and the temperatures are totally fine...

and yes I have seen that part in the technician guide...
