After typing a new thread and click submit it will disappear and I must log in . It doe's not happen all the time but it seems often . I must copy my messages now because I don't want to bother writing them up again . What's happening ?

Lately there has been some problems with the database, but your problem could also originate from your browser, maybe a reset or deleting of cookies might help.

See the tip named Avoiding session timeout in the FAQ. I think that will solve the problem. You can also preview your post every few minutes to avoid having your session time out.
