Don't get me wrong, I think it's a marvellous building but the Engineering dwarfs compared to this...

Took this photo myself last year. :)

Nice. Do you have a photo of that thing taking off?

What timelapse? Lol. This aint no timelapse. Macrumors is doomed

The circular shape looks interesting from the air, but the building is so massive, than when you're actually looking at it from ground level, it's just a another flat wall. The uniqueness of a circular design is lost on ground level by the sheer scale of the thing.

Well time has lapsed in the video, but this is not a traditional time-lapse video. More like a "time's a changin'" video.

Exactly.

Plus... there weren't that many major changes in the last 6 months.

If it was 12-18 months ago to today... that would have been a more interesting video.

Pretty sure MacRumors didn't create or title the video.

Am I missing something? MR definitely created the title of the article...

New Time-Lapse Video Shows Past 6 Months of Work on Apple Campus 2 in Just 4 Minutes

Just wondering what that huge research center is for?? They don't do anything with the iPad Mini or iPad Air, same with Mac Pro and MacBook Air. iPods will be discontinued, Apple Displays already discontinued, Airport and TimeCapsule rumoured to be discontinued.

Perhaps they can rent the officespace out to Microsoft ;)

But Apple's dwarves that in beauty and sustainability.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
But then again, I am pretty sure most would find the beauty of the personas twin towers much more overwhelming than this spaceship.
The personas towers are visited by millions each and every year, one of the most photographed buildings in the world, I don't see that happening to the spaceship ever.
You might be right about it's sustainability though.

Which would more than likely mostly simply come from the title of the video that the article is about, right?

You need bicycles, roller skates or Sageways to go from one end to the other. Or, people could be working in that building for years and not see or know each other.

I really think this building will become a symbol of Apple's failure. They're at the beginning of a downward spiral and I think then moving to a new building will really make people question Apple.

And what are they going to do in there anyway? They're not really designing much anymore.

I reckon it's quite a poor design. The building takes up an unnecessarily huge footprint meaning employees are going to have to do an awful lot of walking to interact with each other.

They are working on animated holographic Emoji and watch bands.

Meanwhile Tim is making some calculations on how to maximize profits by eliminating the entire Mac line and selling only iPhone and iPads.

You joke, but I think Apple's business plan has changed significantly since the building was proposed.

That was in the Jobs days when they were designing Macs, Apple TVs, displays, software, airports etc etc. But now they seem to be making varying sizes of iPhones and iPads and not a lot else.

Does it really need such an enormous HQ now?

Yes, any good contractor can engineer and build a building 4 stories high, not so much the personas towers which were the highest buildings for quite some years.

Apple campus 2 is not just another 4 story building though, right?

I'm not sure that any contractor can engineer and build the Apple campus; at least not without, learning new skills, acquiring specializing equipment and workers, at which point, we no longer have any old contractor.

I said any good contractor, like a reputable one.

Te building is not that special, just curved glass but that's not made by a contractor either.
This is just a big building, nothing more, does it look nice, yes it does but there are plenty of building which are much-MUCH nicer.
