I'm brand new to Apple so please be kind- I would like to make a DVD from a DVD. Can anyone go through the process step by step. I downloaded handbrake. My brother uses windows program and gives me his movies and I heard with handbrake I could do the same. Can you use any type of DVD disc to record on? As you can probably tell....not too technical, but can understand the lingo. thanks for any help

Handbrake converts to MPEG4. You do not want to use Handbrake if you're end goal is copying MPEG2 from a DVD to another DVD.

I believe it's okay to talk about making backups of DVDs you own for your own use. However, I think it's against forum rules to discuss copying DVDs to distribute to others who haven't purchased legal copies.

If you just want to copy a DVD you can do so in Disc Utility. Just highlight the disc, click on New Image and it will copy the disc. Then insert new DVD and copy. Don't need HandBrake.
