New to Leopard, how do I tell if a program is open in the Dock?

Well, I just received my new MBP today and I love every bit of it. Leopard rocks. Except that in the Dock I can't tell if a program is open: what happened to the arrows from Tiger, Panther, etc?

They were replaced with little blue dots.

    Dock

Thank you! I couldn't figure it out either. Turns out that I had left a lot of my programs open.

You can re-skin the dock to replace the blue dots, I prefer arrows.

I use the included 2D view partly because it's easier to see what's open.

I think the blue dots are a step backwards. Sometimes they look like part of the reflection of an icon. You need more than a quick glance to tell whats open. I prefer the old triangles too.
