Don't listen to this guy, you have a full year to buy this if you so desire. It's not necessary, and for many people the statute of their country will protect them from common defects found in Apple's computers.

Good, you go ahead and pay for the OP's repairs when something goes wrong. That's the most idiotic post I've seen ever, telling people to ignore my recommendation for Applecare that will help them when they have issues?? There are tons of posts here of people having issues and many of them are out of warranty because they went your ridiculous way of doing business, not buying Applecare.

a friend of a friend of mine ( yea, that should keep the feds away ;) )uses Cabos for downloading music. Simplicity at it's best!.....or so he tells me......:)

The very common problems with Apple's products have often been resolved by the company with free repairs beyond the warranty period. The discolouration of the white MacBook's palm rest comes to mind for this.

I don't know what country you live in, but in mine we have a law called the Sale of Goods Act, and it has a clause which states that if a product is "not fit for purpose" then the retailer (Apple or whoever else) must resolve the issue. It is up to the consumer to demonstrate if a product falls into this category, but I'd say it's reasonable for a computer to last longer than the standard one year warranty.

Most importantly though, don't buy AppleCare right now - you get a full year to buy it. There's no need to spend money on it now when you could spend that money a long way down the line.

cool, i'm using utorrent instead of transmission and cabos instead of limewire now thanks
