I wish I could my hands on Da Cube. I've always wanted one.

If you're interested, private message me and we might be able to work something out. My dream machine has always been an iMac G3 Snow, but I've also been looking for another Graphite. Maybe do some sort of a trade?

After doing a clean install of Tiger, it's actually pretty snappy! I'm typing this message on it.

So I took the RAM from the G3 and installed it in the Cube temporarily to see if more RAM would make it easier to use on the web, and while it's obviously not going to be as fast as a modern day machine, it can definitely be used as a main web machine if need-be, and that was with only 512mb of the stuff, it would be even better if it had the full 1.5GB in it. As for the iMac G3, well, I'm typing this message from it! I found a lighter web browser, OmniWeb, that seems to load pages much quicker than TenFourFox, even with the tweaks listed on this site. Albeit TenFourFox loads them better, OmniWeb has issues loading certain elements.

If you can find them, the processor-specific builds of Camino work well on the G3. The experience will be similar to Omniweb- certain pages won't load correctly and it's sorely out of date, but quite fast.

The great thing about Omniweb is you can set up website specific preferences and of course, use different user agents. Pretend to be a mobile device and go to mobile versions of websites and see a significant performance increase.

I’ll throw a vote in for TenFourKit, which is WebKit v533.21.1 for 10.4. Last updated September 2012.

It has been confirmed that you can also download the current Leopard WebKit (v604?) to run the certificate update to bring Tiger’s certs up to date with Sierra/HiSi. It may not solve all your browsing needs on the G3, but it is much faster to load and work with than TenFourFox on the older machines. Disable JavaScript in any of these browsers for the best performance.

I miss all of the good Cube deals. Around the Chicago area, they usually list for $250-$1000 because of their collectability. I still think that's too much for a Cube. I'd love to have one to play with though, as I've never even seen one in person.

I agree. As much as I love this little Cube, I'm trying to trade it for a more powerful G3, I want a G3 powerful enough to do some light web browsing, like a 600-700Mhz model. I also have a soft spot for Powermac G4 MDD's as I had a pretty nice setup years ago. Dual 1.4Ghz with a 23" Cinema Display.
[doublepost=1514173772][/doublepost]The more I stare at the Cube, the more I want to Hackintosh it, but I would never do it, because it's all original.

I've got an 800 mhz iBook G3 that I experiment with quite a bit. It's great for light surfing, and even plays videos using some techniques that @Dronecatcher and others have come up with. It's the opaque model with the better video. I'm curious as to how it would run with an SSD, so that's the next test.

I've owned and sold off a couple of Cubes. They're neat machines to own from a collectable standpoint, but they just sat on my shelf doing nothing. I may get another someday...

That's what mine is doing right now, and I hate it lol. I want to collect older Macs, but watching them do nothing is hard. I contemplated some sort of server, but I doubt it would be powerful enough to do anything like that.
