OK, having now got used to my new Mac, I am looking into the isight camera and iChat. However, after plenty of searching, I am still struggling to get my head around how it all works and how best to use it with all my friends etc.

My only experience of video chat is by using Skype on a friends machine once which I thought was pretty cool at the time.

I have friends on MSN, Skype and probably on other software.

How do I best make use of my iSight camera. If I set up ichat, will my friends be able to see me or will I have to download and install all the different types of software etc so I can speak with them all. It seems more trouble than its worth ?

Any answers in laymans terms would be appreciated.

I find iChat works best with iChat for video conferencing.

If your friends already have Skype it's probably easiest to just download that. Registration is free, as is video conferencing.

Yep. We have to wait until the next Messenger comes out before we can use our iSight with MSN 🙁
