Yes. It negatively affects battery life and screws over the hugely complex background system Apple has written and put into place.
Frankly, dunno. I haven't upgraded my iPad 2 from 6.1.0 and don't have other XGA / 512M iPads to properly test (only upgraded from 6.x my iPad 3's / iPad 4 and, of course, the rMini).
Nevertheless, I never restore any kind of backup, not even those of non-JB'n systems. I've read too many "my battery life sucks" posts, most of them directly caused by restoring earlier backups.
If you don't restore, how do you retain your games progress if you have any games? I have a few and my iPad was given to me as a gift and it came with a $100 iTune gift card. I used it to buy coins, get rid of ads, and some other things in certain games. Example - Tennis 3, I spent $9.99 to get all the boosters. I'm also learning French and I have 3 French apps, even though they were advertized as free, there were levels you have to pay to unlock which I did. Most of these apps are server level apps. Thanks

I use AppBackup. Been using it for about 4 years and it's never failed me once. I can send you a step by step link if you want. I haven't restored my games yet on iOS 7 so I guess there's a chance it doesn't work. I can try tomorrow and let you know if you want.
Sure... let Facebook be on all the time and you'll see that battery going down the drain in a sec
That would be perfect. I spent most of the $100 and more in apps or game enhancements and always thought I had to restore my backups to get the enhancements back. I really appreciate the help. Thanks
There's an update to SmartClose. Now you can keep your apps in the app switcher. This is much much better. Plus you can enable and disable SmartClose on a per app basis. I still haven't found a reason to disable this in any app. Things like the Clock app and TuneIn Radio still work in this deep freeze sleep.
Sad to say I'm still getting the crash after updating when SmartClose is set to activate on Lock.Even tried the Springtomize blur fix and no luck.
Hmmm maybe it's another lock screen tweak which is causing the crash? Working fine here with the Springtomize trick. Only other lockscreen tweak I have installed is Forecast.
