I have a series 5 gps only.

Ever since the recent update I can’t make it more than 12 hours of just normal daily use. By about 9pm it’s flat out dead. I do a workout daily 30-60 min with heart rate monitoring. Otherwise it’s almost all standby time with always on display.

Purchased the watch in December and usage hasn’t changed but I would go to bed with maybe 40% at the LOWEST. Are there any fixes or known issues?

TIA

I've found, especially after major updates, the watch drains its battery quicker and can take a few days to settle back into normal battery usage.

have you tried rebooting the watch?

if it doesn't sort itself out after the reboot, try unpairing and re-pairing the watch

There are so many settings you can change to improve battery life, but without proper battery statistic from Apple it is guesswork+trial/error to figure out the exact culprit.

Yeah I will do those. Just frustrating an update literally changes it overnight.

It's like you have never done a software update on any piece of technology before. This happens all the time.

Same for me. I can normally get through a day or two on a single charge but I'm getting the warning that the battery is low by early evening and then dead before I go to bed . I don't know what's causing it, but I have other weird issues on my iPhone too, especially with the Reminders app which started adding it's own entry that just shows "!!! was open on.". No idea what this is but it keeps incrementing as time goes on and if I delete it it just comes back again (currently up to 79 entries). IOS 13 really was unlucky for some.

Honestly when I got my watch a month ago, my battery life was horrible. I noticed that AOD was the culprit for me. How are you guys getting good battery life with AOD on all day? I have the GPS only version.

AOD off didn’t seem to make much a difference for me. I had to do a hard reset yesterday after it froze (first one since the update). Knock on wood but today it seems back to normal. 81% after 6 hours of normal use. Hopefully that did the trick. Maybe a background app was causing an issue after the update.
