Hello. Apple have released an important software update for your iPhone.

This will help manage data roaming abroad.

To check you've got the latest version, connect your iPhone to your computer as soon as you can. Click the 'Check for Update' button in iTunes.

I had this aswell. Have not been on laptop yet though. I was paranoid about it stopping tethering so I did not update or anything 😉.

yeah i got that message, but haven't updated. there were various posts a while back that apparently if you send an MMS from abroad it opens your data connections even if you have data roaming turned off; so people were getting huge roaming charges, it might be something to stop that happening..

Same, got the text today and just checked now, iPhone is up-to-date.

Also downloaded a carrier update a little while ago.

It's the carrier update from a couple of weeks ago.

It prevents data roaming being turned back on when you send a MMS from abroad.

According to the Engadget article on this, though, if you do that O2 can find out and they will cut your unlimited data off. Is that true?

ive been doing it for a good few months, I could understand that if you started spending all day on you tube or downloading movies they may clock on, But if your just surfing they aint got a clue.

Works a treat 🙂
