    Hey Guys,

So basically, I bought a Mac Pro in mid 2007 with the following specs:

    Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    1GB (2 x 512MB)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256MB SDRAM

Anyways, I have just started using it again and would like to use it to play WoW (probably via BootCamp) but the current graphics card is really insufficient.

So what I'm basically looking for is a graphics card that would run in a mid-07 Mac Pro with the 2x2.66GHZ Dual-Core Intel Xeon's (ram is not an issue, I can upgrade this as well) - that will allow me to play WoW on even good settings.

Any graphics card should work that apple has released. The 5870 may be overkill, just due to the price at 450. Try to get your hands on a 4870 that someone is selling to upgrade or the new 5770.

I have the 4870 and WoW runs great, nearly everything maxed out at 1920x1200. Stutters at times, but I believe its due to the game loading.

If you want to make it a great setup, get a new graphics card, more ram and an SSD to boot off of.

As suggested above, ATI 5770 should be your best bet but if you want to save some $, you can get a PC ATI 48xx and flash it. They are fairly cheap in eBay. If you're playing on Windows, any PC card will work but then you would need the current GPU for OS X and a switch

I use the ATI5770 in a 2010 MP with the settings all the way up at 1920x1200. Runs great. 35-65fps usually.

Am I allowed to say here on this forum that I would sell you my stock ATI Radeon HD 4870 from my 2009 Mac Pro? I replaced it with the 5870 a few months ago, and I've decided I won't need it.

EDIT: Nope, I don't think I can say that, since I only have 186 posts, and I'm therefore not eligible to access the Marketplace forum. Bummer. Why did I have to go and re-read those rules? It will take me another year to hit 250 posts!

Yeah... I'll probably regret it. I don't want to make a bunch of useless posts just to get into the Marketplace, either. I'll use the LeBron defense... What should I do? Roffle.
