Hi All - I recently hooked up a new USB 3.0 hub to plug all my peripherals into my new 27" iMac. (Started out with a 2.0 hub which worked fine). For some reason after plugging in the 3.0 hub, my computer will just hang on the white screen while booting up. I finally installed my old 2.0 hub back and the computer boots up fine. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong? 😕

I'd get another hub. Not sure you can fix that behavior. You can try an SMC/PRAM reset, but I doubt it will help. It's just the nature of some USB devices....

Which hub did you buy so we know which one to avoid? 🙂

Orico H7928-U2/U3. Made in China. 🙄
Thanks.

Hrm. Well it's obviously the USB hub causing the issues. 😛

Tried a PRAM/SMC reset? Other than that, not much else you can do.

Was a similar kinda BS with a Razer Mamba mouse for me. Its dock would keep waking up my iMac from sleep. Got rid of it for that reason. USB can be a pain at times!

Thanks. I may try "zapping" as recommended but if my 2.0 is working I might leave well enough alone. 😱
