New USB flash drive will not work, help....

Hello,

I have done a few searches and can't find this problem I am having. I have a brand new flash drive that won't show in disk utility, finder, or my desktop. This drive is new straight from the packaging. I haven't formatted or done anything else to it. All my other USB devices work fine, so that rules out a dead USB port. The drive is recognized on windows computer, but not my mac. Does anybody know of any solutions? I tried rebooting the computer and unplugging all other USB devices with no success. Thanks!

Format it from a Windows PC to EXFAT or FAT then try.

Well the stupid PC won't let me format. It keeps saying program not responding. Not sure how to get this USB drive to work.

Any other options? My windows computer is not cooperating with me, hince why I have a MAC. Anything I can do on my MAC?

Any other ideas out there? I would like to start using my flash drive if possible, or is it a dud?
