They are located in the Applications folder. Open Finder, press CMD+SHIFT+A to access it or go to Finder > Go > Applications or use the shortcut in the Sidebar (the bar on the left with "All my files", "Documents" and so on) or use Spotlight (CMD+SpaceBar) to search for an application or file.

It seems, like you downloaded just the DMG file, double clicked on that file and then double clicked on the application inside. As the installation guide I pointed to describes, you have to copy/drag the application from the mounted DMG to the Applications folder.

    You said, you do not.

    OpenOffice and NeoOffice could help.

You can install something like OpenOffice for free

But discussions about how to crack/install MS Office through means that are not legitimate is a violation of Forum Rules

Right click on a media file
    Select "get info"
Use the "open with" dialogue box
Set to use this application to open all files of this type

If they are in the Applications folder they are there until you delete them
