No word on whether it still has ads in it, but its a massive improvement over the current app. Shame they aren't using iOS speech bubbles and UI icons, as it doesn't feel particularly iOS 7-like/looks more Microsoftish, but it's good enough.

I saw this article. I'm looking forward to it. Skype is the only way that I can converse with some people. The design didn't bother me as much as the lag.
 
I just hope they fixed the bug where the video reverses if you type a message while during a video call.

This looks like it could be an improvement (I especially like the in-app notifications) but the iOS version never bothered me that much. What is really in need of love is the OS X version. Hopefully that'll get a nice Yosemite upgrade.
 
Looks great. It will never be ad-free though. It's a shame they can't offer a nominal annual charge (£0.69/$0.99) to get rid.
 
Current version is actually missing from the app store. Presume that they are actually aiming for release next week.
