Apple UK site has been updated with new videos. We now have a "how to register" video.

The whole PAC code situation is confusing me now.

in what way?.. if you want to keep your same number then you need a PAC code, unless your with O2 in which case it depends on which contract you have with them. Clear? though so! :)

The video shows firmware 1.1.2 as well.;)

noticed two things im not clear on:

:apple: Didnt go to ringtone tab
:apple: how come theres only 7.08gb capacity, i thought it 7.3gb or something

YOU ONLY NEED A PAC CODE IF:

A: You're a customer with a network OTHER than o2 and you want to keep the same number.
B: You're an o2 customer who took out their contract originally at the Carphone Warehouse, as these use a separate billing system.

Anyone else will be fine - even online customers.

Useful as always, thanks leemo

Browsing through the video at the Terms and Conditions part, I can see that 200 MB is still mentioned in the Fair Usage section.

It might have been removed by Friday I guess...

I also noticed that there is a specific agreement against putting VOIP software (i.e. skype) onto your iPhone.

dose anybody know how activation will be for existing o2 customers?? Do we need an apple id??? and do we need to enter our bank details??? :)

Yes.

You need an apple id (or more specifically an iTunes Music Store account) and also your bank details, because in theory (even though you're already a customer and transferring your number) you're setting up a new o2 account.

If I am with CPW/O2, do I click I am a new customer to O2, or an existing customer?

just so i have this sorted in my head, i have an apple id and an itunes account but i'm going to set up another itunes account in my girlfriends name in case of failed credit. will her new itunes account produce a new apple id?
my heads up me a*** with this!!!!

i have an itunes account, but am setting up the iphone in a different name for someone else. does the itunes account need to be in the same name as the o2 account?

about the 200mb, i paused it and it says "as compared to normal users which will be at least 200mb of usage within a one month bill cycle"

Do this mean they are expecting us to use atleast 200mb per month or the other way around, or was this filmed before they decided to scrap it, and i noticed that he didnt scroll all the way down, like he did with the first terms and conditions. Are they not showing us something that they dont want us to know yet, untill we actually buy the iPhone and then we think its to late.

I think in US you had to pay an activation fee of $36, perhaps we have to do the same in the UK, but they wont tell us untill we actually bought the iPhone and brought it home and then think, what the hell and just pay it anyway?

The iTunes account AND your Apple ID are both the same, so if you set up another iTunes account for your girlfriend then her apple id login would be the same as her iTunes login
