It seems Golden Gate introduces new apis for encoding based on quality rather than bit rate. Hopefully this allows for better quality to size encoding when using the media engine.

It probably will. It's just that the fun to uncover what actually changes if left to the user.

edit: oh I just noticed that just a new preset, so it's not an actual new encoder setting, anyway it will be still interesting to see what settings Apple recommends.
