Hey y'all.

I'm on Mac OS Tahoe 26.0.1.

The size and placement of the volume and screen brightness indicators stresses me out, badly!

They appear in that top-right area of our screens now, in roughly the same place that other notifications appear, like an incoming imessage notification.

So I'm just looking for some camaraderie: when I change the volume, my brain gets the sensation that I'm being notified of something. Then the volume indicator disappears, which then makes my brain think that it didn't read the notification and I missed something. I feel like I have to double check that I didn't miss a banner about something important.

It generates anxiety in my mind and body, that's all. Anyone else feeling disturbed by that? Is there anything we can do about the placement of the screen brightness and volume change indicators? Make them appear in the bottom center of the screen, like in previous Mac OS versions?

I think you need to get out more. ;)
Ha... Well, sure. I'm out a lot, but more is always good. Still, isn't this a place -- a forum -- for having genuine conversation about our operating system though? Especially since conversations are mostly about the theme of liquid glass right now, and not much around this change in OS behavior that diverges from decades of consistency. I think it's worth having a discussion about.
