I strongly recommend buying Apple refurb models; you get a machine that has been tested and tried individually, and none of the teething problems which can sometimes afflict newer models which may take a few months to sort out. Besides, the price is usually extremely competitive and the machine itself is efectively brand new.

Cheers and good luck

I see that they are now out of the 2.53 gig model at the referb store, what is the likelyhood of them getting more in?

i brought mine at the refurb store for £1079 funny though that the base 2.4Ghz model and the 2.53Ghz model was only a difference of £50, at first I thought it was a misprice but the listing was on the website for a few days so i guess it wasn't.

The laptop was in as New conditon, and came in a plain white box. when i first charged it up and then unplugged it to run it down the laptop lasted just under 5hrs before it died during that time I was install Apps, listening to music and surfing the web.

btw is the @ located on the number 2 key on a UK keyboard?? the " is where the @ should be.

Cake, did you buy one of the 15" MBPs at the refurb store last night? I was refreshing the page and then it disappeared.

I went back this morning and saw another one listed (2.53ghz), I was checking out, I even made it to the confirmation page (hit submit on the order form) and damn if the order didn't go through. Must have gotten swiped out of my cart. The lucky duck who go it, please enjoy.

I'll be keeping my eyes open for another one. Sweet deal.

No I didn't. I was going to buy one and I looked last night and they ran out, so I was kind of pissed off.

2.53 and the 2.8 ghz models are sold out. I really wanted the 2.53 model. I guess I'll have to wait a wee bit and hopefully they'll get more in.

You can get the 2.53 last generation 15" [new] at ClubMac for $1450 after a $150 rebate. The only downside is iLife 08
