I recently discovered this new weather application which has both a desktop and iphone version. The desktop app provides you with constantly updating weather information, radar data and customized images. These can than be exported to your own customized iphone weather link. This app is absolutely amazing. I created my own weather link for my hometown and than added satellite and a wide variety of other maps. The developer is very responsive and open to suggestions. He is currently working on animated weather radar in the iphone app which I know is important to most people. The small fee for this application is well worth it. I am in no way affilated with this application, I just thought it was something worth sharing.

Who pays for weather reports? I guess the better question is why?

Edit: I think i vaguely remember 'The Weather Channel' being offered over a decade ago on my local cable provider as a pay channel. That lasted about 2 weeks.

I've looked at a lot of weather apps. I'm a pilot, and I really want easy access to radar, not just text. I also found this app a few days ago, and have since purchased it.

It is simply a *great* interface, and in addition to the excellent mac gui, the iPhone support is first rate as well. I have several maps from weather.com that load quickly now on the iPhone for my cities. In addition, the developer responded immediately with queries, and was very helpful.

There ARE lots of free weather apps and sites out there. www.wunderground.com is one of my favorites. That said, for $15, I have NO problem supporting this developer for 3 reasons: 1) the excellent user interface, 2) dedicated iPhone support and 3) great support.

Just to be clear, I'm in no way affiliated with the developer (never even heard of this app until a week ago).

I agree with you 100%. I actually have a degree in atmospheric science, so I have a fascination with the weather and always am looking for new weather applications. This one I love, since it allows me to add many images for a particular city and than have them uploaded to the iphone weather app. I'm not just talking about weather radar, but more advanced images that most people would not understand.
