New Year's Eve: Your plans and resolutions?

I will spend the evening at home with my kids. The excitement level will be somewhere between "watching grass grow" and "waiting for a watched pot to boil".

Resolutions? Same as always: try to be better with money, try to get into shape, try to resolve some life issues.

In the end, I'll buy another Mac, sit with it all day long, and avoid said life issues.

So perhaps my resolution instead should be to accept who I am. ;)

New Year's Eve plans?

Stay off the roads. Maybe have some friends over.

2007 plans?

Continue my certifications track.
Get my resumé updated.
Get in shape.

Now, that's a good idea. I'll add that to my list too if that's OK. :D
You just never know when you might need it...

Absolutely OK! :)

I'm embarrassed that mine is 12 years out of date.
And I promised my wife we'd be out of this hillbilly hell as of 12/31/08. :D

Theres 31 months in 2008? Frack, gonna be a long year... :D

:p

I might add 'Get in shape' tho, I see that as an excuse to buy a new iPod. Hehe.

For NYE, I am planning to grab a few bottles of wine and a few friends and head to the Thames for the fireworks. Then head back to my place and continue the drinking.

Fellow Londoners: I have heard that it's very miserable attempting any bit of seeing the Thames fireworks, do you guys have any suggestions? I live near Tower Bridge so we're planning on going down a few hours early and find a spot--am hoping there will be a spot to find!

As for resolutions, mine follow the same. I need to lose a stone and will do this by trying to eat a bit more healthy, cycling and running. Am also hoping to get a distinction in my degree and take the LSAT and get a good score :)

I saw the Millennium fireworks somewhere near the Waterloo side of the river. We had a great spot which was sheltered by one of the bridges. Unfortunately, my precise recollection of the location is somewhat hampered... the fireworks had very pretty colours, though. ;)

Not sure what Im doing for new years... probably just going to my regular old bar and downing a few. Probably play a little poker, too.

For 2007:
1. Find a new, better job.

2. I'm just beginning to learn Muai Thai and want to be good enough in the coming year to enter a tournament and actually win. Maybe not the whole tournament, but definately beat my first apponent.

3.Eat better. Cut out most of the junk food I eat.

4. Im a huge fan of poker and have never played in Las Vegas, so another goal I have is to play a tournament ($1500) in Vegas and at least place in the money.

5. I just got divorced and have two children who tell me all the time that I'm "the best daddy ever." I'm going to work extra hard to cement that opinion and make sure they know they are the "best children ever."

Good luck to everyone else and I hope you all have a wonderful 2007. Please be safe while sending out 2006. May all your hopes and dreams and wishes come true.

And one final thing that my grandfather used to tell me: Be good. But if you're not good... don't get caught.

<sigh>

Ah yes... For those that wonder, in the US it's Month/Day/Year.
In Europe it's Day/Month/Year.

I never understood the US way, and it always confuses me looking at stuff on the internet and it says 7/11/06 or whatever, never know what exactly it means. I don't get it tho, D/M/Y makes sense, M/D/Y just, well, doesn't... butttt whatever

New years.... not sure yet what's going on.... lots of folks are out of town...

Resolutions -
- Lose x number of lbs by
- - Getting more active
- - Keeping my mouth shut.

One of my resolutions this year will definately be taking better care of my teeth (got some fillings refilled this year and a crown... $$$). Besides brushing and flossing twice a day, I wasn't sure what other steps to take towards that resolution... what do you think?

Lose about 20 pounds.

Finish my novel I've been writing for over a year.

And most importantly, get my fat butt off the computer once in a while...

I'm not a fan of New Years Eve, but if I do go out, it'll be with my brother and some friends. More likely that I'll stay in, open a bottle of wine, watch a DVD and get a early night.

I never make New Years Resolutions, since if it's that important, I'll do it today!

My plan for 2007 is simple: lot's of travelling. I plan on seeing as much of the world as I can afford before I'm 30 (just under two years away  )

We're off to Miss Jaffa Cake's mum and dad's New Year's shindig. They've also invited my mum and dad down for the festivities, so my New Year's Eve is going to be spent making sure they don't misbehave too much. ;)

No resolutions for me, I don't bother with that kind of stuff.

We're hosting a b-day party for my daughter (her birthday is on the 1st, but scheduling complications make the 31st work out better) then we'll watch the Bears game and drink a little bit.

As for resolutions, just a couple:

1. Be a more relaxed parent.

2. Sleep more (should help with #1)

3. Work out more (as opposed to just running).

Does **** mean there are automatically **** letters to choose from, or is the **** a generic replacement for any number of a combination of unusable **** letter words? I'm hoping against hope for ya' vniow. :) Either way, **** all will take some time, depending on what **** is.
