That's almost certainly due to the long history of a high literacy rate in Iceland, which would tend to keep the language more static over time.

Well... Most Swedes and Danes I know can read--even the Norwegians can fake it pretty good.

Icelandic's slow rate of change is likely more due to that island's 1000 years of relative isolation than anything else.

Apparently Apple has pulled the plug on showing Icelandic switch Ads on the web.

Is this something that you know for a fact or just presume?

Ironic...

That was really weird. I'm sitting here at work (I work at an NBC affiliate) and right as I was reading the article about the Yo-Yo Ma Switch ad, it came on during NBC's Law and Order.

I'm finally switching, maybe I'll have a commercial. ;) Not likely.

Two more weeks until my Tibook! Whoo hoo!

Not exactly. I think pop singers/stars are very talented, it just
isn't always in their profession (Singing) like for Brit, it is dancing
and performing. I think Britney Spears is very talented even
though she is only an okay singer. I think the word I was looking
for was crariginal. A mix between creative and original :D.
