I just got the new YouTube update and noticed that it is causing issues with the dynamic island when playing video in portrait mode. The video is being cut off by the dynamic island and the settings button is interfering with the battery icon etc. Before 17.2.4.7 the screen was black around the dynamic island. Is anyone else having this issue or know of a fix.

Update I updated YouTube app to 17.43.1 and thought that fixed the issue but started happening again.

I've got the latest version and mine works as it's supposed to with no dynamic island issues? Pinch to zoom and different colour theme choices etc. Maybe try deleting the app and re-installing?

14 Pro and I've got YouTube Premium, not that it should matter...

This is what mine looks like I tried deleting it and reinstalling it didn’t work

I had this issue once. I just started Youtube and got the message that the new theme is there and zooming. Even zooming was working before for me.

I can`t reproduce it anymore. For me it seems to be ok. iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16.1

Google apps sometimes take a few days to sort themselves out on iOS... give it a few days maybe to see if it changes as they need to push the rollout/changes themselves in some cases even though the app is updated.

Maybe try going into the iCloud Backup settings and toggle YouTube off, uninstall, reinstall, try again.
