hi, I'm trying to add my wifes mac book to my home network but I'm having problems. what I have done: enable SMB, changed the "workgroup name" and enable personal file, windows sharing, accounts and changing the IRPStacksize on the pc registry, share folders on the pc.
Now I can access the mac from my pc by going into my network places with no problem. the problem is when i try to access the pc from the mac. When i go the network, i can see the "workgroup name" folder and in the folder I see a shortcut icon with the pc's name, but when I click it I get the "alias" and "error 36" when I try the "smb://" way. It also does not ask me for any user name or passwords. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? thanks
