What is the top little white bar thing called, the thing that runs all the way across the top that has the little apple symbol.

Also how do I change it's color. I've seen some people doing that and was just curious on what I need to download to do that...

It's called the Menu bar, and you can change the appearance of your computer's interface- the windows, menus, etc- using Shapeshifter (I think from unsanity.com)
