Hi all, New Member, New Mac Mini 2.3ghz i7, 3 days old. I made the mistake of skipping the intial setup, and performed Migration after setting up my user.
Well that didn't go so well and I deleted the user that used Migration. I now see on the hard drive that the data is still there.( a whole 150 GB worth) Can that data be configured for the original user I set up? and where can I find that info. If some one could please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks,

P.S. I know, damn PC Users!!! I'm trying!!! I'm trying!!!

Hold down the command key+r while booting up and use that to reinstall. In will reinstall like it was new. To go through the initial startup settings you can do some /Applications/Utilities/Terminal actions.

    1. Boot into Single-User mode.

    2. Type the commands (at the first prompt):
    Code:
    fsck -yf
    .

3.. Let that run to fix any issues with your setup and wait for another clean prompt for the next step (it will take a little while so wait for it).

    4. Type:
    Code:
    mount -uw /
Press the 'return button and after this command.

    5. Next type:
    Code:
    rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
Press the 'return button and after this command.

    6. Lastly type the word
    Code:
    reboot
Press the 'return button and after this command. This command will reboot you into the initial setup script like the first time you opened the new Mac.

Hopefully this is what you need to fix the problem, Good Luck.

I've never personally used any of OS X's data migration tools but have you checked the /Users/ folder for the old User's Home folder? Maybe that folder contains the 150GB of data your trying to find?

You could also try doing the migration again; Create a New User, Delete all the other User's (and Home folders) and then re-do the Migration.

Edit: satcomer's steps sound like a better idea, just remember to delete any old User accounts when your done.

So, I will have to wait for the migration to complete again. What about the files that were left on hard drive? Is there a way to move them over to another user? Thanks again for all the help.
