Newbie iMac mail question

Couldn't find it in Search so.....
Just received my refurbished 27" 2.8 quad i7 iMac and I'm psyched!!
Thing is I can't find the info as to how I make my Mac mail sync up with my Gmail. I can send out mail from Mac mail but I can't receive it.
Anyone have a link? I'm sure it's an EZ process...if ya know how it's done🙄

Thanks so much David. I didn't have my Gmail POP enabled for all mail.
