I'll preface this with I have read the FAQ and newbie stickies, but I'm still just a little uneasy with which jailbreak app to use.

The only thing I currently want which leads me to needing to jailbreak is the uXM application, allowing streaming XM radio to a currently unpurchased iPhone.

In preparation for purchasing the iPhone, I'd like to have a head start on which jailbreaking app I will be using.

I want my iphone to look as close to stock as possible (no pineapple logos or the like).

Which jailbreak app is the one I should be learning about prior to purchase?
    PwnageTool/QuickPwn/WinPwn ?

I have both mac (macbook pro) and window machines (dell laptop).

    Thanks,
    -Chris

Just use pwnage, expert mode with custom logo (apple logo).

QuickPwn is way faster and easier to use than the other two and you can keep the apple logo :D

The basic difference between them is this:

QuickPwn = takes an iPhone that already has the current firmware and jailbreaks it without re-writing the entire firmware. It cannot update an iPhone (you would have to do that separately), and it doesn't have a lot of customization features. But it's simple and so if one is unsure, they're less likely to mess something up.

Pwnage and WinPwn = takes an iPhone, creates a firmware (which doesn't need to be what's currently on the phone) that will jailbreak and/or unlock the phone once it's installed. You can customize all kinds of things, but you have to actually follow all the directions in a guide or read the expert mode items carefully.

If you have a current iPhone already and you just want it Jailbreaked, then QuickPwn is basically designed for exactly that.

I upgraded my new iphone to 2.1, and tried to use the QuickPwn 1.1 but when I try to use it, it says it doesn't support the firmware on the phone. Did I already do something wrong and I just started?

Hmmm... how did you update it to 2.1? Is it jailbroken already? That's usually the circumstance in which QuickPwn would give you that error when you're using the right firmware. Also you should make sure that the firmware you give QuickPwn is the same oen on your iPhone.
