I'm completely new to XCODE and MAC programming. I am now learning Objective-C and Cocoa programming using XCODE.

I am creating a password manager application. I have splitter view and left pane has a NSOutlineView and left pane has an NSTableView. My intention is use the outlineview to display categories, and use the tableview to display password items.

The problem is I have difficulty with these two controls. I am reading the sample SourceView, but cannot grab the general idea.

I've googled a lot on tutorials, but could not find suitable tutorials for me.

I have much experience on Windows programming and I have addicted to the easy Object/Control/Event model thing. So I'm not sure if someone can take this into account and explain the KEY procedures to populate the outlineview?

Another small question is: is there a similar Tree control like TreeView in Windows?
