I know this may sound really stupid......forgive me.

How does the Cinema display work with the macbook? If you hooked it up and closed it the macbook, will everything all go on the cinema display and act like a desktop computer?

Or will i have to look at the notebook instead of the monitor ?

yes, the macbook will act like a desktop if you close the lid. it will go to sleep, but if you jiggle the mouse, it will wake up in closed-lid mode.

You can operate your MacBook with the lid closed (a.k.a. Closed Clamshell) using the Cinema Display (sweet) or another display (usually cheaper) but you'll need an external mouse and keyboard. Here are instructions on how to do so. -GDF

Thanks very much.

So when closed clamshell (display closed), everything will appear on the monitor just as if you were on a iMac?
