Newbie questions on software on a PowerBook G4

I just received a PowerBook G4 with OS 10.3.4 installed and I had the following question:

What advantage if any is there to install a later OS verison on the PowerBook?

What are the specs? You might be better off with OS X Panther, as Tiger might run slowly if it's your every day computer.

If it's relatively knew, definitely get it, as iSaint said, it has a ton of new features.

At the very least update it to 10.3.9..just run your System Updater (Apple Icon>Software Update)
