9. Apple should have made the ram upgradable on these
That is a popular sentiment but it would have some downsides.

The type of RAM Apple is using on the M1 Macs is called LPDDR4X. This type of RAM is not upgradable on any computer using it no matter who makes it. Apple is using LPDDR4X RAM because it is very low power and also very fast. Most Mac users are using notebooks where low power is very desirable and the speed is good for everyone. The use of LPDDR4X on desktop Macs is more questionable but supply chain constraints probably make using a different design for the lower number of desktop Macs sold not viable.

And this helps explain the issue you are having with screenshots. You save a screenshot nearly anywhere. But since the file structure for the Photos are internal, you cannot directly save to a folder in the Photos app. All images in Photos need to be imported into the application. Of course, you do not have to use Photos to open a screenshot; Preview works great for me and is personally preferred.

Hey guys quick question, I noticed that the big sur update to 11.4 required 2.35gb my question is after downloading and installing is their an installation file of this size that can be deleted. I have a 256gb ssd and every gb counts. Thanks in advance for your replies.
