With Apple Music, you have always been allowed to family share, even with purchase sharing turned off. It is its own setting in Settings->iCloud->Family Sharing.
Unfortunately, it appears that there is no such setting for News+. There is very little documentation, but from what I’ve been able to find, the only way to enable family sharing for News+ is via purchase sharing.
Does anyone have any insight on this? I hope that with enough attention, Apple will reconsider and separate this functionality from purchase sharing as a whole.
I know with my family we very much like to keep our purchases independent, but as with Apple Music, we’d like to share News+ as well (no way are we paying for multiple subscriptions).
