I have the new Apple TV and am thinking about making this my "one-box" with a cable cut to go along with it. One thing I'm mixed on is news. When something major happens, I like knowing I can turn on CNN or whatnot with my cable and be turned in to what's happening immediately.

I wonder about getting world, financial, and other news on the Apple TV with consistency and ease. CNN required a cable sub log-in for their app to be useful. Anyone have another suggestion(s) for news source(s) on the new Apple TV?

Like skynews. But would like CNBC and CNN.

Don't want to buy another device. Hopefully a skinny bundle will become avail soon from Apple or Verizon or another cable company for Apple TV.

It's rumored.

Maybe I'm missing something, but if you have an antenna and you're relying on OTA, why not just connect it to... your TV? Just the PVR type features?

What Che said, and also, 1 input. You can just leave your TV switched to the Apple TV and never have to input switch. That alone is a big deal for most people.

Another reason is that it's actually easier. Instead of virtual channel numbers like 12.1 and 12.2 and 52.1, you can have a visual guide of what's on and what actual network/channel it is. That's way easier than remember weird channel numbers or even having to input them into your remote control.

Another satisfied customer of channels app. Works great for me but I also pay for a cable tv package. Since I have an ATV on every TV anyway I prefer just using it. I have the HDHoneRun Prime connected over GB Ethernet using a Verizon FIOS CABLE CARD. Only can't get FOX channels because of DRM. Even got the wife on board. Really happy with my setup.

Reuters TV app is very good: great content with customizable program length and elegant interface.
