Newspaper(WaPo) Subscription won't stay verified in Apple News app.

Hi I'm having an issue where I can't keep my Washington Post subscription verified within the Apple News app. I can verify (subscribed through Amazon), and Apple News will confirm it, but if I close the app it will prompt me that my subscription has expired when reopened.

Is anyone having this issue? Is there a fix? It doesn't happen on macOS.

Is this a problem with the new Apple News 4.2? My WaPo and WSJ subscription info migrated over when I updated macOS to 10.14.4. Now as I noted further up in the thread, I'll be canceling my WSJ direct subscription and just sign up for News+ since that will save me some bucks every month. Too bad Apple couldn't bring WaPo along as well.
