If Apple would just make native apps optional we wouldn't have this issue. All it would take is a setting, "Native Apps to Use" which would lead to a screen to toggle each native on/off. To turn them back on would require a data connection. Alternatively, just allow them to be deleted and re-downloaded from the App Store.

all you developers get so damn protective of your beta crap. Why would they let each developer register 100 UDID's if only developers should have the beta software?

So developers can beta test their applications on both devices that they own and via third party testers that are members of their development team. The UDID slots are not and never were intended to give out to people just so they can play with unreleased firmwares.

It's absolutely useless to me and it's very annoying that it can't be removed.

Usually some of the pointless Apple Apps dont bug me, because I just put them into an Apple App folder. But this one certainly bugged me when it didn't let me put it anywhere.

Apple, if you force us to have these apps, at least give us the option to hide them in settings.

That's a great point. It's becoming increasingly common to have these forced apps whether it is another mobile platform or a blu-ray player or a Internet enabled TV. I made a folder of the Apple Apps I don't use but turning them of would be even better.

What sucks is that it's not even an app; it's a folder. Which means you can't even hide it away in a "Junk" folder like you can with Stocks, Youtube, etc. It's gonna be stuck on my homescreen, totally empty in all likelihood.

It's there in the beta so DEVELOPERS AND COMPANY'S can test and get the bugs out. Why can't you all understand that?? More than likely it will be a app similar to iBooks that you will able to download. It's beta, just because you don't have use for it doesn't mean that others, dare I say more experienced and bigger devs aren't testing with it. Another thread about wa wa wa, I don't use this so apple shouldn't have it on there.

Im glad to have it as it will keep my mags separate from apps and books. I also think it will prompt more company's to deliver their content through apple.

They call it NEWSstand for a reason, it's not just magazines. It would be nice for my newspapers, auto download the new edition.

Good idea and needed IMO

I hope you're right.

The point is that most people actually using the betas to test/debug their apps don't come to forums like this to complain. They go on the dev forums and they report bugs where it can actually make a difference.

You don't know what a bug is if you are suggesting this be reported as a bug. X feature does not work as expected is a bug. I don't like X feature is not a bug and should not be reported as such. This is as good a place as any to make ones opinion of a feature working as expected. You would be laughed at in a dev shop for reporting "I don't like News Stand and it should not be included by default."

For the record I also think News stand is rather stupid and would like it not include it by default.
