Downloaded "Distro", Engadget's new magazine, and it's on my iPad desktop.

I want to put it into Newsstand so it'll update overnight and keep my desktop organized as intended, but I can't get it in there. Dragging Distro atop Newsstand doesn't let me drop it into Newsstand.

How do you get magazines in there?

    TIA

There is an +add in the app box once you open it.

I can't find the +add. Is that something in Newsstand or something in the magazine app (in this case, Distro Magazine) that does it?

I looked for it in both and can't find it in either.

    Thanks.

I couldn't get them in there either, but then there was an update to my mags (GQ and Pop Sci) and they just automatically moved there. I think the Publishers need to code them to go into the folder or something.

    Ah, that would explain it.

    Thank you (both) very much.

Engadget has also publicly stated that they are working on getting Distro into Newsstand. It seems Apple initially was not going to allow free content into Newsstand but changed their tune. Engadget didn't want to wait and released Distro as an app. It will happen.

Apologies. Confused discussion. You can add subscriptions that Apple has approved for Newsstand by using the "Store" button on the iPad. You CANNOT add subscriptions for content not authorized for Newsstand, i.e. any truly free content such as BBC News, to the "Newsstand."

This leaves me with two "News" folders. One for the content I've chosen to place there (Washington Post, BBC News, etc.) and one for content that Apple has decided to place in the Newsstand (New Yorker, NY Times.) I cannot move either of these subscriptions to my own "News" folder. Nor can I move other content that I choose into Newsstand.

More and more subscriptions will be moving over time. The option was not available for all publications per-launch, and it's available now...
