NexStar Vantec Hard Disk Enclosure Issue

Hi there,

I am trying to securely erase a hard disk (to sell it) using the Hard Disk Enclosure "NexStar Vantec" but the procedure always stops giving the message "Securely erasing data to prevent recovery failed".

Any ideas?

Sounds like the hard drive has an irrecoverable error on it's media...

Thank you Matreya. I think that the problem is related to the hard disk enclosure (NexStar Vantec) but I will try another hard disk to check it.

The problem is related to the enclosure. I tried another one and I was able to securely erase the HDD.
