    Hello everybody,

I know it's a bit early to talk about this, but i just wanted to hear some of your opinions on this. Do you think it's very likely/possible/not very likely that the next generation iMacs (21.5") will get quadcores? Same for the graphics card?

I'm asking this because i think i'll be upgrading somewhere next year (may or something like that) but the 27" is too big for me, so i want to settle with a quadcore 21.5" & decent graphics card.

Because iMacs uses LGA 775 and LGA 1156 sockets now, I think it's possible but it might be that 27" will be quad-core only with i5 and i7 with LGA 1156 socket and 21.5" would have LGA 775 socket and Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad.

In addition, Clarksdale which is high clocked 32nm dual core will be out in early 2010 and it uses LGA 1156 so it might be that Apple uses only LGA 1156 socketed logic boards, so i5/i7 21.5" might be possible. As I have said before though, when it's about Apple we never know what's coming

Sounds reasonable! I'll have to check the performance of Core 2 Quad!

Probably not until the heat comes down

It's possible but there are heat issues with placing quad cores and monster GPUs in such a small package. The distance between them in the 27" is just enough to prevent heat build up.

    Blazer town!
    21.5" becomes 23"
    Dual Core i5s
    Better graphic card
and base model gets a graphic card.

what is the ideal screen size for widescreen 16.9, 23"/24" or 21.5"?
