I find the space-gary very depressing and boring colour!!

Totally agree with you. I just doesn't look right to me on the iPhone 5s and I can't see it being any different on the iPad. Apple's product colours are just so bland and I hate the 2 tone colour schemes. The first thing I'm going to do when I get my iPhone 5s is put it in a case to hide the space grey back.

Cant wait for Apple to include a digitizer with the same capabilities as the Galaxy tab so we can use a decent stylus to write and draw.

Most styli solutions to date are a work-around to cope with the dismal resolution of the digitizer.

I sold my iPad 3 last March when I thought they were going to refresh the line way back in April. My body is ready.

So speaking of which I think I'm going to list mine tomorrow. I wonder what the going is right now for my wifi 3rd gen 32GB. If the next gen is announced within a month or two does this mean we could still be waiting even longer for them to actually release? I hope they drop soon after being announced.

I don't know the exact origin of Space grey/gray but here are some examples of grey in space...

1. You standard aliens are called "Grays". They are the aliens we often see depicted in popular culture.
2. Metals used in spacecraft etc
3. Color of the moon.
4. Fictional space uniforms often grey

Basically grey has a long history with the portrayal of "space" in popular culture.

So there you go. And if it was a joke, it's been told a hundred times already on these boards.

I think the notion of green little men are more commons than the x-filey "greys". As for spaceships, why not call it space ship gray? The full moon is a very light grey at best. Fictional space uniforms? As in Star Trek? Or do you mean space suits? Those are white, I believe.

I maintain that space itself is black. Titanium gray would make more sense.

I want gold iPad with finger print....

I love my iPhone 5S 32gb GOLD.... I wish Apple will release gold iPad with finger print sensor.... that would be steal buy...

Either that's a fake, or Apple at least know what the color it is.

That is GREY to me :)

(now they'll change it at the last minute)

Are those color arguments the new "The next iPhone won't be iPhone 5 because it's the 6th iPhone"

The term "Greys" have been around a very long time. It's not something X-Files created. Grey has been associated with "space" in popular culture for a very long time.

I think Space Grey is a great term for the color (Apple didn't invent it), but Titanium grey? 2001 is calling!

Space Gray for iPhone is (kind of) necessary to get rid of all the "scuffgate" complaints they had last year, and it seems the plan has worked; almost no scuffing or scratching complaints for the iPhone 5S.

However, Space Gray isn't necessary on the iPad. I have the Black & Slate iPad Mini for almost a year now, never put it in a case, and absolutely no scratches or scuffing at all. That's simply because the iPad isn't put in any pockets or thrown around on desks and no chamfered edges at the back.

The Black & Slate iPad has that stealth look to it, which looks very cool. I'll miss it dearly :(

LOL SD port

you are living in a 2004 fantasyland

I want a floppy disk on the 2013 Haswell Mac line :D

Hi Sheep, how are yous getting on?

Maybe when yous are struggling with your 16gb iPhones I can laugh with my Galaxy S4 with 64gb of added memory ! It's actually the future.

P.S. I'm buying the iPad 5 (fingerprint scanner please !!) - no need to be loyal to any brand. I also know yous are taking the piss out of SD and not Micro SD
