So what. I want power.

I personally don't care if the new ipod touch has a camera and microphone, but I am also not going to complain. What I really want to know about the new ipod touch is if it will have upgraded storage, memory, battery, and processor power. The camera and mic to me are just bonus.

iPod as VOIP phone

I just returned from a 9 day trip to Turkey. My iPod touch was the only device that I took along (other than a DSLR) and was used for all mail, internet, calendar and voice needs. I am not a propellerhead and found Skype very easy to use with earbuds and a mic. I was asked twice if I was on a land line.

The current iPod is perfect for international travel and the inclusion of a camera and microphone would more than justify a new purchase.

Anyone that can open an app on an iPod and click a phone number can bypass ATT. The only issue is finding open WIFI - actually much easier in Turkey than around the USA.

TH

what you are describing I a kludge that no-one would go through with. Also, you still couldn't actually make or receive normal phone-calls. And where did you get the idea that we would be getting multitasking?

There's an understatement of the century. It woul be a kludgy hack that no-one would go through with, apart from few propellerheads.
