I see that three different analysts do not expect a new iPod touch in 2014. Has anyone seen any report about an iPod touch release in 2015? Thanks!

I have not, but logic would dictate that the 'iTouch' is fairly low on Apple's priority list considering the volume of units they sell vis-a-vis the runaway success of their iPhone and iPad line, where a lot of their attention goes these days. Also with a slew of product updates coming in the fall, and perhaps that rumored 'iWatch', I wouldn't be surprised if the 'Touch' got no love at all this year; at the very most an upgrade from the dual-core A5 chip and/or some camera refinements, if that.

With more and more of their target audience for the 'Touch' opting for iPhones instead, it would not surprise me if Apple will just let the 'Touch' ride it out for another year. Just speculating here, but with rumors of coming HiRes music downloads, they could very well totally redesign the 'Classic' some time in the future, into a HiRes audio player, complete with onboard DAC. However if those HiRes downloads don't take off significantly (a strong possibility), that might turn into a 'niche' product, and Apple is not known to venture into those 'waters'.

But we're getting off-subject here. Long story short, I believe there's a good chance the analysts you quoted about the iPod Touch might be proven right this time.

There are too many products being released this fall to release the Touch 6 this year. I saw one analyst (not sure which one) claiming that the release would be spring 2015. IOS9 (fall 2015) looks like it will require an A7 or better so I can see the Touch being discontinued if they do not release a Touch 6 with an A7 or better by spring 2015.

I think the touch gets updated to an A7 etc, but it just gets a cursory notice during the release of all the other products, at the end we'll get a "Hey BW there are new touches too, here's the upgrades specs and price. They won't make a big deal out of it.
