I'd prefer to keep the useful ports and don't have any desire to adopt USB-C at the moment.

If you don't plan on using multiple external devices with your computer, why not just buy a retina MacBook or MacBook air?

Utterly agree with this.

Apple had to ditch the ethernet port to make the current model it's current thickness, so to make it thinner again would mean losing all the other ports and on a machine with 'Pro' on it that won't fly.

If you don't need the ports, want a thin light machine, buy the MacBook Air or new MacBook. That's what they are designed for, the rest of us who do want that extra power and all the ports can buy the MacBook Pro.

I do get what you mean but it's also important to know that technology is advancing and we customer especially spending those amount of money should at one point expect better products years after years.

The Macbook Pro design is starting to get really old, People who bought the laptop in 2013 has the same design at of 2015. The MBP just got new internal upgrades so we don't expect anything this year, but as of 2016, The Next Macbook Pro should have design improvement. especially weight wise, thinner bezels, thinner body, less ports since Apple seem to go that way with the new Macbook.

The 2 thunderbolt pots and the HDMI port can definitively replaced by one USB-C port.

USB-C can't replace Thunderbolt 2, let alone Thunderbolt 3. I agree with the other posters, if a single USB-C port is what you want then the rMB is perfect for you.

USB-C could replace the current USB-A ports, and along with Thunderbolt 3 which has a thinner connector there is some possibility of a slimmed-down rMBP.

They didn't update the design for the 2015 13." So I am kind of doubting they will update the 15" (also the 13" actually sells more units) so why would they do the 15" and not the 13".... or were y'all talking about the eventual "update" that may happen with Skylake or Cannonlake? ;)

Kal.

If they kept one Thunderbolt, the SD slot, and moved everything else to Type-C I would be fine with it. However, with a house full of dogs, no Mag-Safe, no sale.
